$20 Pet Adoptions at Atlanta Humane Society

ATLANTA -- You won't find one of this season's best holiday deals at any department store.

Through Tuesday Nov. 30, the Atlanta Humane Society is offering dog and cat adoptions for $20.

Usually, they're upwards of $85 depending on the age and type of the pet. Puppies under six months old, for example, are normally $150.

"We're trying to find great homes for some great animals," said Cathy Sleva, the Atlanta Humane Society's senior vice president for development.

The reduced fees cover all the same services as regular adoptions.

"Any animal that's adopted is already spayed or neutered. They're microchipped. They're up-to-date on shots," Sleva said. "You get 30 days of free medical insurance with ShelterCare.
