Part I Health Insurance

Dutch health insurance is governed by two legally distinct programs. One is designed to insure against routine health costs. The other is designed to insure against extraordinary costs, such as disability or long-term hospital admissions. In the Netherlands, these systems are referred to respectively as cure and care.
