Jaxxx123, Going in only a few weeks and being young makes very little difference to your chances of needing the insurance. What if:

A close family member become seriously ill or dies, and you must cancel?

What if You get called to jury duty?

What if You get in an accident on the way to the airport and miss the plane?

What if you merely have to buy air tickets to catch up to your ship?

What if your plane is grounded and you miss the ship entirely?

The airline or cruise line loses your luggage and practically have to buy a new wardrobe to get through the cruise?

What if your luggage is merely delayed till day three of the cruise and you have to buy lots of new clothes and sundries?

The eternal question that always comes to mind whilst making your payment for that trip. If you are traveling on budget airlines, sometimes the price of the insurance is close to the price you paid to fly. Thats when I always think: Nah! nothing is going to happen to me, Im not going to bother with travel-insurance.

I think I have only ever bought travel insurance once in my life, years ago, that too because my parents gave me the its a question of your life just pay the extra and get it.

And honestly, I think they are right.

Ive always taken it lightly, because by some stroke of luck nothing has happened to me on travels: no accidents, no robbery, no nothing. (I hope I havent just jinxed myself).
